This year for International Women's Day the INVIVO team shares how we will #ChooseToChallenge

For any company, an equitable culture is a thing you practice, not a thing that you are. At INVIVO we’re proud that 66% of our team are women and we want to thank all of the strong female leaders for everything you do. We’ve learned that success comes from a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.

This year’s theme for International Women’s Day, is #ChooseToChallenge, and our team has shared some thoughts below on what that means to them.

“I will always stand up for equality.  For me it’s inspiring to reflect on how far we have come, see the contributions of so many including Ruth Bader Ginsburg and even just how many strong female leaders we have at INVIVO.”

“Leadership needs to focus on self-awareness and respect.

Here is who I am and where I am from.  I respect you, and will be a person you can respect.

From this place I can lead through challenges and transitions.

Together we will make sound decisions based on the unique challenge we face.”

I love this quote by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.:

“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”

-Jamie Erickson, VP of Culture

This is one of my favourite quotes as I reflect on what I can do to help enable others to thrive, just like what many (and who happen to be women) had done for me in the past.

‘One isn’t necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential.’

Happy International Women’s Day! Today, and every day.”
