CHALLENGE:
Medtronic was launching the world’s smallest minimally-invasive cardiac pacemaker with no leads necessary. Since implantation of this device used a novel approach, education was of primary importance to ensure adoption. This necessitated our creation of training resources that would span both Medtronic’s field representatives and the physicians implanting the device.
TRANSFORMATION:
We created an eLearning Program that integrated rich media spanning all learning modalities (written content, video, photographs, 3D models, radiography) into a curriculum that builds users’ understanding of the device and its implantation in a step-wise, self-paced fashion.
RESULT:
Upon completion of each step, users were able to measure their learning through quizzes and put it into practice by running a 3D procedural simulator.
